An offering fromthe hills of Kumaon.
Born of the hills, named for the Divine
Shree Mukund Ji Foundation was incorporated on 16 December 2025 at Haldwani, in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. We are a young organisation with an old heart — rooted in the tradition of seva that the hills of Kumaon have practised for generations.
Our name carries our compass. Mukund — the Dark Lord with the flute — plays no instrument of his own. The flute is simple bamboo, hollow of self, and the moment breath passes through it, the whole world stops to listen. We want to be that bamboo: an instrument through which our villages find their own voice.
Beginning in Bhagwanpur and Mota Haldu, we commit ourselves to education, health, livelihoods and dignity — measured not by what we spend, but by what our communities can do on their own.
Our Vision
Villages that thrive on their own soil — educated, healthy, self-reliant and proud.
Our Mission
To walk beside the families of Kumaon in education, health, livelihood and dignity — with the community always in the lead.
Four vows, kept daily
Listen before we build
Every programme begins in a courtyard, not a conference room. We sit with families, hear what they value, and let the community set the direction of its own change.
Dignity is non-negotiable
Help that humiliates is not help. From a food kit to a scholarship, everything we offer is delivered with the respect a family deserves.
The community leads, we walk beside
Our role is to strengthen local hands — village committees, mothers' groups, school staff — so the work outlives any single organisation.
Transparency as sacred trust
Every rupee entrusted to the Foundation is accounted for and reported openly. Stewardship of public trust is, for us, a form of worship.
